John Anthony Rizzo splits his time between Barbaresco, Italy and Portland, Oregon.

John has also spent a lot of time in Massachusetts. He studied there, taught there, and was awarded a Massachusetts Arts and Humanities Fellowship for his photography.

John studied photography as a Fine Arts major and was decidedly influenced by Gary Winogrand and Robert Frank. Along the way, John also received a National Endowment for the Arts grant. He still says best friend and ex-professor Jim Harrison lit the fire that made it all happen.

John is an award-winning photographer--which is to say that his photography is so compelling that other people, who know what they are talking about, have decided that John deserves awards.

Over the years there have been ad campaigns, national magazines, and cookbooks. There have been photo shoots in Paris, Prague, and Portugal (that's just he P's) and long tours through Italy behind the lens of the camera.

John's images are everywhere. His stock agencies include: Getty, UpperCut, Jupiter Images, Age Fotostock, Digital Image and Pixtal.
